THE ART SHOW
Headed by Assistant Director: Jangar
The ART SHOW will be held SATURDAY and will be displayed in the MAIN HALL until the AUCTION
The to participate in the Art Show is $3.00. That allows you to enter ONE item in ONE category. Additional items may be entered at the rate of $3.00 each UNLESS you have agreed to sell those items in the charity auction. RMTransCon will waive ART SHOW entry fees for additional items also submitted for the CHARITY AUCTION.
So.... if you enter two paintingS in the show, and agree to sell at least one or them in the ART AUCTION, then you only pay $3.00 to enter. Otherwise, you pay $6.00.
There will be a first prize given for each category which will consist of a certificate and a prize donated by the dealers.
There will be one GRAND PRIZE for the overall best of show which will consist of a certificate and half all the ART SHOW entry fees collected.
Entries do not have to be Transformers related, but might have a better chance of winning.**
DRAWINGS
- Any artwork drawn, sketched, or painted in any medium without computer enhancement.
SCULPTURES - Any solid
one-piece statute or model cast in any material.
KIT BASH - Any statute
or model built from parts of other model or toys kits.
Note: Some
"customs" may go in either SCULPTURES or KIT BASH category.
Computer Aid Drawing (CAD)
- Any artwork rendered on or assisted by using a computer. This includes
coloring.
MOONBASE - Special Category - This includes all artwork sent via mail and DRAWINGS or CAD's submitted via email by contestants unable to attend the convention. See Special Category rules.
Once the ART SHOW is over you can opt to have your artwork(s) sold for commission or donated for the CHARITY AUCTION. If you wish it sold for commission, the sale price paid in auction will be split 50/50 between you and the convention's charity. If you donate your artwork, all money from the sale of your artwork will go to our charity.
If you don't want your artwork sold in the auction, please collect it as soon as the ART SHOW is over.
You may present it in person when you get to the convention. Artwork will be accepted between 9am and 5pm on Friday Nov. 1, by Walter Causey or by Assistant Director jangar between 7 and 9am on Saturday before the start of the convention. If you would rather ship it ahead rather than bring it with you, email me at rmt@tca.net to get the address of our home office.
Once you arrive, you will need to fill out a from for each item you enter. If you wish to bring a complete form with you to save time email me at rmt@tca.net , and I'll email you one.
Special Category rules - MOONBASE - This year we are opening the ART SHOW to fans who are unable to attend the conventions. This will demand special requirements from the contestants that MUST be followed closely or we may not offer this category again.
Paintings, drawing, and CAD artwork will be hung on a wall or lattice, or displayed on a chair. Be sure your artwork has a stiff backing or frame that can support its own weight without bending or can be used to hang it on the wall.
Sculptures and Kit Bash will be displayed on a table. Be sure your artwork is stable and will not easily tip over.
