Beat the Transformers Geeks

 Our HMC, Tia, has volunteered to run this event. This game will be Saturday and should run about 30 - 60 minutes.  This game will be run similar, but not exactly like the real TV show "Beat the Geeks".

  The categories so far are: the Comics Geek, the Movie & TV Geek,  the Toy Geek, and the General 80's Trivia Geek. 

  First round, the audience will be asked trivia from all four categories to select  contestants. The first person who answers a question correctly, will be awarded a prize immediately. This will continue for 20 to 30 minutes. At the end of this round the top EIGHT winners will be asked to come on stage. The top four will be asked to play the parts of the Transformers Geeks. The other four will play the part of the contestants. 

 Round Two: The Transformers Geeks will decide among themselves who will take what category - Comics, Movie, Toy, and  General 80's Trivia. They will then be issued the Geek Metal and take their seat on stage. Contestant will then be asked a series of questions for 2 or 3 turns.

• If the contestant answers correctly, 10 points are awarded. Turn ends.
• If the contestant answers incorrectly, no points are awarded. Turn ends.
• If the contestant answers incorrectly, and the Geeks gives the correct answer, 5 points taken away. Turn ends.

At the end of round two,  the two contestants with the highest score, shall proceed to round three.

 Round Three: Contestants get two turns challenging a Geek of their choice. Contestants are asked a question first. The Geek must defend his metal.

•  If the contestant answers incorrectly,  turn ends.
•  If the contestant answers correctly and Geek answers incorrectly, contestant gets 50 points, and turn ends. Geek must surrenders metal.
•  If the contestant answers correctly and Geek answers correctly, contestant a second question and process is repeated.
• If the contestant answers correctly and Geek answers correctly on second question, a tied breaker is given.
• If the contestant wins tie breaker, turn ends. Contestant gets 50 points, and turn ends.
• Next player challenges a any Geek with a metal.

At the end of round three,  contestant with higher score goes on to face a ANY Geek of their choice in the HEAD-to-Head round four.

Round Four: 

• Contestant will start and pick a 1,2, or 3 point question
• Geek can not choose to take question of lesser difficulty than the contestant just attempted.
• First one to score 7 points wins the Grand Prize package. 

 *The rules have and will have a tendency to be modified as necessary depending on the situation. While these rules are NOT exactly like the game show, if you see a MAJOR problem in the procedure, please notify me.  rmt@tca.net
